This Week’s Comedians
Ted Morris always looks like he’s having the most fun in the room when he’s on stage. His intelligent, off-beat humour and wickedly charming smile lets us all know that our slightly warped thoughts are just fine.
He’s equal parts boy-next-door and boy-your-mother-warned-you-about with just enough boy-you-want-to-hang-out-with-at-the-party-to-laugh-at-everyone-else-with (and know you’re safe!) to keep things interesting.
Born in Ottawa and now making his home in Toronto, Ted discovered his love of stand-up while getting his degree in veterinary medicine. While he still spends some time working as small animal vet, his comedy career is taking off and he has found that it’s much more gratifying to “kill” on stage. He’s been called “fresh faced and hilarious” and “a real gem” by Now Magazine, and slightly ruder things by strangers in the street.
Ted currently tours Canada working for Yuk Yuk’s, the largest chain of comedy clubs in the country. A favourite of the festival circuit, he has performed at the “We’re Funny That Way” (Toronto), London, Halifax, Winnipeg, Glasgow, Sudbury, Out of Bounds (Austin, Texas), Laughing Devil (Atlanta, Georgia), North Carolina Comedy Arts, NXNE (Toronto) and JFL42 (Toronto) Comedy Festivals, and can be heard around the world on SiriusXM and CBC Radio’s The Debaters and LOL.
His TV appearances include two stand-up specials for Pridevision TV (as both a performer and producer), The Toronto Show, The Comedy Network’s Canadian Comedy Shorts, MuchMoreMusic’s Heat Meter, The Smart Woman’s Survival Guide and The Halifax Comedy Festival on CBC. Ted’s hour-long Comedy Now! stand-up special on The Comedy Network (Canada) debuted in 2012. His web series The Giant Comes Out is currently being developed into a TV series. He is also a nationally syndicated radio columnist sharing his vet wisdom across Canada on CBC Radio, is the featured vet on the international magazine show Steven and Chris airing on CBC and runs a monthly phone-in veterinary advice show on Zoomer Radio.
Ryan Long is best known as the creator and star of Bite TV’s original TV Series Ryan Long is Challenged nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards. He is also responsible for award nominated TV series Crown the Town with Ryan Long and accounts for more then 8 million plays and views on the web. Ryan has also appeared on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, MTV Live, Much on Demand, Musique Plus, TheScore, AUX, Fuse, City TV, SeriusXM, Space, Discovery Channels Prank Science, Family Channel’s Lost and Found Music, NBC’s Heroes Reborn and more.
Ryan has performed everywhere from bars to arenas across North America, and more recently toured with the likes of Steve-O, Tom Green, The Trailer Park boys and more.
Jeff Paul brings a care free, no holds barred attitude, and razor sharp wit to every stage he performs on. No topic is off limits and his unmistakable charm has allowed him to push the limits of comedy for years, making him one of the country’s favourite comedians. Jeff’s act, based on his life observations, results in raw, often embarrassing stories of failed relationships, his physical appearance and drug and alcohol use will keep you laughing from start to finish. In addition to being a Yuk Yuk’s regular, Jeff was selected for New Faces at JFL42 in Toronto, accepted to the Sudbury Comedy Festival (2016, 2017), headlined the Cottage Country Comedy Festival, was chosen twice to showcase for COCA, has been featured twice in the NXNE Festival and can be seen hosting his weekly Dope N’ Mic show at Toronto’s famed Underground Comedy Club. He also founded the Icebreakers Comedy Festival in his hometown of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
