We’ve taken the pledge to help 519Pursuit collect 519 pairs of white socks. Although it is not often thought about, socks are one of the most commonly asked-for items in shelters. These socks will be donated to The Mission Services of London, The Unity Project, Y.O.U (Youth Opportunities Unlimited), London Cares, The Ark Aid & The 519Pursuit Outreach Team. If you’re coming to the club during the month of October, please bring a pair of white socks to donate. Thank you for your support!
THIS WEEK’S COMEDIANS
Since her comedy debut in 2006 Eman El-Husseini has racked up an impressive list of credits. Travelling across Canada, the U.S and the Middle East she covers a wide range of topics, from how lesbians are the new gentlemen to her parents’ wedding anniversary landing on, you guessed it, September 11th. A media darling of sorts, Eman has been featured in major Canadian newspapers such as The National Post, The Toronto Star and The Montreal Gazette. She has also appeared regularly on radio stations such as CJAD, CBC, and CKUT. Her TV credits include a half hour comedy special on CTV, Comedy Network and the iChannel.
The Montreal Gazette describes her as “Fearless and ferociously funny” and named her “The Queen of Montreal comedy”.
Comedian Jon Steinberg has been flooring audiences across North America for over a decade with his unique and twisted view of the world. A constant professional, Jon has appeared at major festivals including the Halifax and Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. A perennial favourite on CBC radio’s The Debaters, Jon has also appeared on television shows such as Spun Out, Really Me, and Global TV’s medical drama Remedy. Jons comedy album “Between Me and the Wall” can be heard on SiriusXM, and is available for download online. For more on Jon Steinberg please visit www.jon-Steinberg.com.
Fast thinking, quick witted and gayer than a picnic basket bought with a three dollar bill, Richard Ryder takes the stage with a refreshing energy and “no holds barred” attitude that audiences welcome again and again. No topic is too taboo for this Toronto native whose comedy is fresh, fast, funny and a constant source of embarrassment to his family. Which is exactly how it should be.
No stranger to TV, Richard’s Comedy Now on The Comedy Network is one of the network’s most popularly replayed episodes to date. He’s also the host of the international hit TV series Knock Knock Ghost which can be seen on OUTtvGo in Canada. Richard’s brilliantly eclectic humour has also been featured on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, CBC Radio 1’s Accent On Toronto, Q107 where he won their Funniest Person With A Day Job. As if this weren’t enough, Richard can also be seen live, working the comedy circuit throughout Canada and the States.
All kidding aside, Richard must be experienced live. He’s a hoot!
