FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What age group should my player be in?
Age groups coincide with the age your player will be in for the 2020/2021 hockey season.
U7 (Tyke) - 2014, 2015
U9 (Novice) - 2012, 2013
U11 (Atom) - 2010, 2011
U13 (Peewee) - 2008, 2009
U15 (Bantam) - 2006, 2007
U18 (Midget) - 2003, 2004, 2005

2. Can I sign up with the rest of my kid’s team?
Absolutely! We know kids like to play with their friends, so teams are allowed to register together. Our Youth Summer League registration fee is per player, so ALL participants must complete their own player registration. From there, note your team/coach name at the time of registration. We will be in touch with the coach to confirm their roster and make sure your team is put together. PLEASE NOTE: Having your coach put you on a team roster DOES NOT register you for the league! All players must complete their own player registration and pay their own player registration fee.

3. My child wants to play but doesn’t have a team. Can we sign up as an individual and be put on a team?
Of course! What better way to spend the summer than meeting new friends! Simply sign up as an individual and we will place you on a team. You may also request to play with 1 other player at the time of registration.

4. What are the bi-weekly TPH Training Sessions?
We have again partnered with our friends at Total Package Hockey (TPH) to offer training sessions for our Youth League participants. Every other week, a TPH training session will be held either before or following your game. These 30-min on-ice sessions provide an opportunity for players to develop their skills in a fun, encouraging environment. TPH training sessions are voluntary for participants, but we have found they are a favourite among our returning players!

5. What happens if there aren’t enough players or teams in our division?
If a division or age group does not have enough entries, league administrators will look to reformat the group with the goal of allowing everyone to play. These reformats could include, but are not limited to: combining/splitting up of teams, combining/splitting up of divisions or age groups, allowing players to move to a different division or age group, operating the division as shinny where players are divided into teams each week, or folding the age group/division. All participants will be communicated of any potential changes and provided with their options at that time.
