Local driving regular Tyler Borth was aboard Cutting Class this past Thursday evening and would guide him to a Woodbine Mohawk Park victory for Windsor-based owner Gary Bickford and trainer Shayne Barrington. For Borth it would be his first ‘big track’ driving win after coming in off a career-best season in the bike with 310 trips to the winner’s circle and over $2M in purse money earned in 2022.
Borth, along with Travis Henry, will share in The Raceway’s ‘Driver of the Year Award’ for most wins in 2022 with 144 victories. The pair were set to break the tie, on New Year’s Eve, but that program got canceled due to weather conditions. So could a tie-breaker be in the cards any time soon? The return of The Raceway’s Annual Awards Banquet promises to be a great time and just maybe - last season’s Director of Racing Rob Lumsden may have something cooked up to solve the tie… You’ll have to join us on the night of Saturday, February 25th, to find out!
Banquet tickets are now on sale at the paddock’s racing office on race nights and in the grandstand, from the mutuel manager on duty, during live racing and simulcast hours. Tickets are $45 each or $50 at the door (should there be any left)… They’re selling quick so get yours soon!
