Another week goes by and it’s another week of no racing in Ontario, while racing south of the border continues… This Friday, April 23, there had been harness racing scheduled for The Raceway at Western Fair District, Woodbine at Mohawk Park and Fraser Downs… All 3 Canadian tracks were forced to cancel weeks ago, but on this same day - 11 harness tracks and 18 thoroughbred tracks, in the U.S., will be racing - it’s pretty much been business as usual for horse racing in the states all Winter and into Spring - minus the spectators…

Truro Raceway, in Nova Scotia, is set for their season opener this coming Sunday afternoon with 54 horses entered for 8 races… P.E.I. tracks will be gearing up with qualifiers soon and racing returning in May… Out west Assiniboia Downs and Hastings appear to have a green light for thoroughbred racing next month, but for the Century harness and thoroughbred tracks of Alberta – they appear to be on ‘pause’ like Ontario.
