Through its people, facilities and events, Western Fair District (WFD) is a leading year-round agri-food organization, focusing on community, agri-food industry supports and education, the annual fair, consumer/trade events, horse-racing, and entertainment & recreation for residents of the city and far beyond.  

The District is a unique, multi-faceted, historic, and community-based, not for profit, in the heart of Old East Village, in London, Ontario. It offers several complexes onsite, providing many unique activities all of which have a major impact on the local economy, and contribute to our community in a wide variety of ways. The annual Western Fair is near and dear to the community and is the Association’s signature event, popular consumer/trade shows make their home in the Agriplex, a first-class harness horse racetrack, award winning Farmer’s and Artisan’s Market, industry leading Sports Centre, great dining & banquet facilities embracing local food and drink, a new vermiculture centre called The Wormery, and an agri-food business and resource hub fondly known as The Grove.

As a not-for-profit Association, with deep roots in agriculture and community, WFD has evolved over a century-and-a-half because of its dedicated team culture, committed to honouring tradition, while continually innovating and evolving to meet the needs of the agriculture industry and the communities we serve.  

What we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a creative, versatile, & detail-oriented individual, with a passion for the industry! Our ideal candidate displays a high level of professionalism, while demonstrating a strong knowledge and understanding of digital marketing.

The Digital Marketer is responsible for researching, planning, and executing effective digital marketing solutions that drive conversions and support the customer journey.

Responsibilities of the Digital Marketer:

  • Research, plan and execute digital marketing initiatives in alignment with the association’s goals and project deliverables, understanding our marketing and business objectives.
  • Deliver channel-specific digital marketing tactics using necessary tools.
  • Conduct and report on research surrounding target audience identification, competitive analysis, and search engine keyword analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure marketing strategies deliver ROI.
  • Assist with marketing audit initiatives to create strategies for proposals.
  • Aid in the preparation and delivery of status meetings and effectively handle general questions from internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain industry certifications and stay informed on marketing technologies and best practices.
  • Monitor marketing and sales performance metrics to proactively forecast trends and recommend new solutions.
  • Identify key performance indicators and share insights with project stakeholders.
  • Develop internal initiatives to help improve processes or create a standardized procedure.
  • Convey results of managed client solutions to support the development of case studies and proposals
  • Measure, analyze and assess the performance of all digital platforms, including preparing internal reports regularly and providing recommendations for continual improvement based on results and ROI.
  • Provide support at events and other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant marketing experience
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a relevant field (e.g., marketing, advertising, web development, computer science) or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital marketing tactics and tools across multiple channels
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with two or more digital marketing channels such as analytics, SEO, email marketing, SEM, or social media marketing
  • Certified in Google Analytics
  • Highly effective communication and time management skills
  • Proven ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Working Conditions:

Hours of work are based on 40 hours per week, typically a Monday – Friday however there are times that the successful candidate will need to work a flexible work schedule including evening and weekend work during various shows, annual fair, etc.
