London, February 3, 2020 – The London Farm Show has been around more than 82 years and has grown into the largest indoor farm show in Eastern Canada. It has seen many changes during that period but this year will be something new for the historic show as it goes virtual for the first time.
London Farm Show Connect, presented by Ontario Mutuals, will kick start Spring with three days of expert speaker presentations on a wide variety of topics for farmers. An in-person event was not possible this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which led to the transition of the Western Fair District Agriplex into a temporary field hospital and vaccination centre.
The virtual show will run during the original event dates - Wednesday March 3rd through Friday March 5th. Each day will feature concurrent sessions from 10 a.m. – Noon and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. in a fast-paced virtual format.
There are more than 15 speakers and panelists confirmed, focusing on topics such as Off-Farm Income Strategies, Barn Fire Prevention, Stock-cropping, Agricultural Waste Recycling, Biosecurity, Agricultural Rights & the Law, Careers in Agriculture and more.
The Western Fair District wishes to recognize the following sponsors: Presenting Sponsor Ontario Mutuals, AGTIV® – Premier Tech, BASF, Farm Credit Canada, Intragrain Technologies, Maizex Seeds, M&T Printing Group, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, Nufarm, TD Canada Trust Agricultural Services and Trecepta® for their support of this event, along with many speakers and advertisers.
In addition to the speakers, farmers are invited to nominate friends and neighbours for the ‘Nominate a Neighbour’ competition, running until March 5th, 2021. Nominees should be someone in the community who is an all-round great neighbour, team member, or industry representative in the agricultural industry. The winner will be drawn randomly and will receive a $50.00 curbside kitchen gift certificate from the Western Fair District.
Tickets to the event are $20.00, taxes included, and a portion of each ticket sold will be donated to 4-H Ontario. Visit www.londonfarmshow.com to see the complete speaker lineup and purchase a ticket to support the show and 4-H Ontario.
