This Week’s Comedians
Rob Ross was born to be a stand-up comic. Or, more accurately, Rob Ross dropped out of university to be a stand-up comic. Tentatively taking the stage as an awkward and gangly 18 year old, Ross knew stand-up was his destiny/only option. (Now that is passion).
Now a veteran touring headliner with many years experience under his belt, he has amassed an impressive list of performing credits; Comedy Now!, Comics!, Just For Laughs, Halifax Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Open Mike with Mike Bullard, Madly Off In All Directions and many more too numerous (or less impressive) to mention.
Since moving from Alberta to Toronto in 1993, Ross has also found steady work as a television writer. His credits include; Rick Mercer’s Monday Report, Royal Canadian Air Farce, The Geminis, The Junos, The NHL Awards (and many more failed television pilots too depressing to mention). Currently, he is a creative producer with MTV Canada.
On stage Ross has a unique style - relaxed yet fast paced. His material is intelligent and original. If you’ve read this far you should probably book him.
The mind of your cantankerous grandfather, wrapped in the body of your nerdy teenager, Cal Post is a must see. This anti-establishment comedian cleverly, and ruthlessly, deconstructs life with a complex Napoleon would envy. Tackling topics from politics to sex, Cal is not what you expect. Short and cute, yet biting and sharp, Cal’s comedy is like a razor blade in a candied apple.
Cal Post is a touring stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. He has made appearances on “No Kidding” for iChannel, JFL42, and Hellfire Productions pilot project, “The Sandbox.” He’s also the host and producer of Spirits Comedy Night, the longest running comedy open mic night in Canada.
Since first stepping foot on his first stage at the age of 19 years old in Hamilton, Ontario, where he calls home, Patrick decided to walk the path of a stand-up comedian. Since then, he has honed his craft with an honest, no holds barred routine, sharing stories of the best and worst moments in his life, including the glories & pitfalls of being a young, single parent. It’s evident in his act, which has audiences laughing all across North America, that ‘embarrassment’ is not in Patrick’s vocabulary.
Patrick has opened for the likes of Ari Shaffir (Comedy Central), Gilbert Gottfried (Comedy Central), Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Program), Neil Hamburger, and most recently Tom Green (MTV), with whom Patrick has been touring the world with since 2013.
