This Week’s Comedians

Headliner

Scott Faulconbridge

“Nobody delivers a line like @scottythecomic…stance, timing, material. His life and stand up experience shows” - Glen Sumi, Now Magazine

“Great timing, a quick wit and superb story telling make him one of Canada’s finest” - John Moore, CJAD Entertainment Editor

Scott Faulconbridge was nominated for a 2009 Canadian Comedy Award as Best Male Stand-Up. Hilarious story telling about his family life mishaps and a quick improvisational wit have led critics to claim that he is “among the best stand-up comedians on the continent”.  It has also earned him regular appearances on CBC radio’s wildly popular The Debater’s where he goes head to head with the best comedy minds in Canada.  Scott has also appeared in the premiere season of CBC TV’s The Debater’s which debuted this past summer.

He began his career as a member of one of Canada’s most popular and acclaimed improv troupes, On the Spot, a two-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee for Best Improv Troupe. Scott then honed his unique improvisational stage presence with a quirky observational style in an act that has headlined in Las Vegas and toured all over the UK where the BBC’s Thomas Paine called him “a great international act”.

Scott has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, CTV’s Comedy Now! and CBC’s Comics. He has also performed at the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs Festival  over a dozen times as both a stand up and an improviser and has made recent appearances at both the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Halifax Comedy Festival.  His last festival appearance at Just for Laughs was 2012.

Scott has toured Canada several times, most notably as a part of the Lipton Just for Laughs Comedy Tour in 2004, as well as the Investors Group Comedy Tour in 2006 and recently was the opening act for Howie Mandel at the National Arts Centre in our nation’s capital.

Scott’s first self produced DVD entitled Nice Shoes which was released in March of 2011. This was followed by the release of his CD Scottland in 2014 and also a short CD musical release of two valentine’s day songs called ‘Love Scott’ in February of this year.  He has also appeared in numerous films and television shows, most notably Disney’s The Greatest Game Ever Played starring Shia Laboeuf and directed by Bill Paxton.

Middle

Andrew Barr

Andrew Barr is one of Canada’s fastest rising young talents, known for his unique blend of forward-thinking comedy, mixed with unapologetic filth.

He recently headlined the Weather Permitting Comedy Tour, which featured 60 shows in all 10 provinces and taped for CBC Radio’s LOL at the Icebreakers Comedy Festival. He has also appeared on MTV, the NXNE and YYZ Comedy Festivals and has his own TV taping on iChannel’s No Kidding.

Writing bios makes him feel braggy and uncomfortable, but he wrote one just for YOU!

Emcee

Nick Beaton

From a blue collar background, Nick Beaton cuts through the bullshit of an overly bureaucratic society that takes itself way too seriously. Whether it’s done through his opinionated rants, hard hitting jokes, or his disarming “every man” personality Nick Beaton is a favorite wherever he performs.

He has performed on 3 continents, 6 countries, and over 40 cities.

His recent Edinburgh Festival show received glowing five star reviews, from both “Broadway Baby” and “Three Weeks,” the latter of which described him as having, “enviable confidence, timing, and manner of a comedian with decades of experience beyond his years.”  He has performed at Montreal’s International Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, the Icebreakers Comedy Festival and has received numerous accolades for his comedy, including being a myspace featured comedian and winning the 2007 Just for Laughs Toronto Homegrown Competition, as well as being nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards including one for his comedy special that aired nationally in Canada.
