Jeff Mcenery

Jeff McEnery won the prestigious “Tim Sims Encouragement Award” in 2005, “Yuk Yuk’s Great Canadian Laugh Off” in 2006 and was named “Best Stand-Up Newcomer” at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Awards. Since then Jeff has gone on to become a headliner for Yuk Yuk’s and has made multiple appearances at every major Canadian comedy festival including the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival and Halifax Comedy Festival. Jeff’s Comedy Now! stand-up special was broadcast on CTV in 2011. In 2015, he was nominated for ‘Best Male Stand-Up’ at the Canadian Comedy Awards and released his first solo comedy CD “Sunset Acres.”

As an actor, Jeff had a lead role in the critically acclaimed drama Dog Pound. He was also a cast member on the Comedy Network’s sketch series Hotbox and has made guest appearances on Letterkenny, Covert Affairs, The Jon Dore Television Show and Naturally Sadie. Jeff’s short film Behind the Funny has aired nationally on The Comedy Network and he is currently a writer for the CBC’s hit show Still Standing.

Andrew Johnston

Originally from Brockville, Ontario, Andrew Johnston has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most prolific gadabouts and hottest up-&/or-comers on the Toronto comedy scene. The winner of the Toronto regionals of “The Great Canadian Laugh-Off” in its inaugural year, Andrew was added to the Yuk Yuk’s roster, started touring and has spread both his signature style of comedy and murky-yet-puissant seed from burg to berg. A nominee for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award in 2006 and the Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Newcomer in 2009, he recently competed in The Homegrown Competition at Montreal’s venerable Just For Laughs festival.

You’ll recognize him from his many hours spent debasing Rihanna videos as one of the stars of MuchMusic’s top-rated Video On Trial; committing character assassination on unwitting college-aged kids on MuchMusic’s Love Court; as the severely underused street-reporter on Slice’s Three Takes; artfully discussing the 90’s on Entertainment Tonight Canada; serving reincarnated-Charles Nelson Reilly-realness on The Comedy Network’s Match Game; and as the (brunette) star and creative force behind instant online hit, The Sweater Girls.

An active member in Toronto’s GLBT community, he’s a frequent contributor to fab magazine and Xtra, and currently tours the University circuit with his stand-up-lecture series on anti-bullying. However, he’s best known to Toronto audiences as host and producer of the most consistently buzzed-about live comedy show, “Bitch Salad” - named “Best Queer Comedy Show” by Now Magazine and as seen profiled in The Advocate.

Martha Chaves

Martha Chaves is a busy comic. Her infectious, candid style, her captivating stage presence, and her gift to relate to a wide range of audiences grant her numerous presentations at clubs, colleges, fundraisers, corporate functions and comedy festivals.

Martha is a veteran of multiple Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, and of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. She has also appeared in the Halifax, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Boston Comedy Festivals, and in the “Marshalls’ Women of Comedy,” in NYC. In Spanish, she’s performed in the Festival Del Humor de Caracol, in Bogotá, Colombia.

Her versatile material mixed with her fluency in 4 languages make her an asset to perform for an array of fascinating audiences. For example, the Canadian Peacekeeping Troops (in Alert, Egypt, Israel, and Afghanistan) and The Nobel Women’s Initiative, a delegation of women led by Nobel Peace Prize winners (in Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala).

In 2015, Martha warmed up 43,000 people for the 2015 Pan Am Games - Opening Ceremony and in 2016, she hosted the ACTRA Awards, in Toronto.

Her TV credits include two national comedy specials: COMICS! on CBC, and Something About Martha on CTV and The Comedy Network, plus her TV appearances on Just for Laughs, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, to mention a few.

Martha is a regular on CBC Radio’s “Laugh Out Loud,”, “The Debaters,” and “Because News.”

Her witty and poignant one-woman show, “In Times of Trouble,” was featured in The SOULO Festival of One-Person Shows, (May 2015) and in ALUNA Theatre’s CAMINOS Festival (November 2015). In 2016, she was invited to perform it in the SOLOCOM Festival in New York City’s PIT Theatre. In May 2017, the SOULO Festival of One-Person Shows launched “A Rebel Without a Pause,” Martha’s autobiographical piece about becoming a Refugee in Canada, and finding her “rebel” voice as a Latin-Canadian, doing comedy in a second language.

“The Grande Dame of Canadian Comedy is without a doubt – Martha Chaves. Her wit is infectious; her style is delightful and when you work with her – you are assured professionalism. Martha has always made me laugh out loud, and she is a genuine asset to Canadian comedy” ~Tracy Rideout, Producer CBC Radio - Laugh Out Loud
