London, Ontario – July 18th, 2017: After the success of last year’s inaugural Day of Dreams the event is back again to provide a unique opportunity to children and their families who aren’t otherwise able to enjoy the wonder of the annual Western Fair. Western Fair will open its gates early on September 13th for children with special-needs, and their families, to experience the fair in an environment tailored just for them. Many guests come for the sights, sounds and smells of the Fair, but for some the giant Midway, bustle of busy vendors, strolling performers, smells of the farm and crowds of eager fairgoers is not the ideal way to enjoy the annual fall tradition.
Day of Dreams is a unique opportunity for youngsters, designed to extend the fun of the annual Fair to those who may not otherwise experience it. Many who attended the 2016 Day of Dreams expressed their excitement for the addition to the Fair, many being able to bring their children to the communities’ signature event for the first time ever. “It is quite unique for children with special needs to be able to share positive experiences with siblings. I am always looking for ideas to create a positive bond between my special needs son and his brother. Under normal circumstances we would not attend an event like the Western Fair as a family, and we are very grateful to the Day of Dreams for hosting this,” explained parent Janet Reljic who attended last year’s event with her sons.
With the support of presenting sponsor Roy Inch and Sons children aged three to twelve will have the opportunity to experience select midway rides, without line-ups, and be entertained by the best acts the Fair has to offer, minus the hustle and bustle of crowds. “In today’s world, we believe all kids should be able to dream even if it is just for a moment. The joy on their faces last year made it a very easy decision to return as the presenting sponsor of the Day of Dreams,” explained Peter Inch, presenting sponsor Roy Inch and Sons.
The children will receive free admission, free access to select children’s midway rides, and a stuffed toy. Special performances from Fair entertainers like DooDoo the Clown the High Dive Show and a visit with the animals ‘Down on the Farm’ will make for a fun filled day.
In partnership with Spectra Venue Management and Food Services & Hospitality the Western Fair is delighted to provide all five-hundred guests with a free lunch along with their admission, rides and entertainment.
Application forms for families who feel their child would enjoy this opportunity to sample the Western Fair, at their own pace, can be found on the fair’s website westernfairdistrict.com and will be approved on a first come, first serve basis. The program will welcome up to 500 children and their guests
