Western Fair celebrates the ethnic diversity of our community with the new Cultural Showcase. Visit the Cultural Showcase and discover the traditions, heritage, language and entertainment of several fascinating cultures.

Greek Cultural Day
September 9
Philoxenia!! What does this mean?? (phílos, "friend" and / xenos, "a stranger") – warmth (friendliness) shown to strangers; the readiness to share hospitality (generosity) by entertaining in one's home. Come and experience PHILOXENIA at the Greek Cultural Festival. Hospitality at its best !! Fun, food, singing, children’s crafts, entertainment and lots of dancing , cooking demonstrations provided by Chef Josh Gerosavas, CCC of the Hellenic Community Centre, and much more. OPA!!
Afrofesta Day
September 10
Afrofesta will be showcasing a taste of Afrofesta.
Steel pan performances, African tribal dances and displays from
local Afro-Caribbean businesses. Youth groups from the L.I.H.C will
have some talent to display and crafts, clothing and treats will be
available!
Mexican Fiesta
September 11
A celebration of Mexican culture highlighted by food, music and friendship. Enjoy “Puro Mexico” - a talented and enthusiastic group that promotes the rich culture of Mexico through folklorico dance. You'll also enjoy a fashion show, a Mariachi Band and cooking demonstrations. A day of Mexican traditions and heritage all topped off with a swing at the piñata
Oneida Day
September 12
Learn from the Oneida Nation (of the Thames) what life was like in early Canada. Sample some authentic Corn Soup while you watch a short film that chronicles the Oneidas’ move from New York State to our area in 1840. Learn how to play the national sport of Lacrosse from a decorated national youth team and their coach. Explore crafts and cultural products. Sit in on a language lesson. Be entertained by musical and dance groups wearing true native dress.
Incredible India Day
September 17
Namaste!
Visit Incredible India without leaving Canada! Come and sample authentic foods, have your hand hennaed by a henna artist and enjoy demonstrations in Indian cooking, dance and music. Children will enjoy the craft table, sponsored by Museum London. Have you photo taken in front of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal! Join us on a cultural adventure that will be sure to excite your senses!
