London, Ontario, September 1, 2015: The latest agricultural event to launch at Western Fair District will be the London Dairy Congress in February of 2016, an exciting, new and innovative dairy industry event February 4 & 5, 2016.
Farm Credit Canada is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of the first London Dairy Congress event, along with major exhibitor LELY, the front runner in state-of-the-art farming solutions for the North American dairy market.
The London Dairy Congress aims to provide the dairy farmer, or farm manager, with a one stop experience for all things dairy. “As producers in the information age we need to truly understand and find out how best practices can be used in our operations. The London Dairy Congress can provide that,” said Norm McNaughton, Producer, Comrie Holsteins.
Attendees can meet with industry leaders in equipment and animal health, talk with expert consultants like: Vic Daniels, hoof care specialist for Vic’s Custom Clips and the Progressive Dairyman Magazine; Dr. Reg Clinton, artificial insemination technician for ProVitro IVF Services and Dr. Katherine Found, Veterinarian with Kirkton Veterinary Clinic, focusing on cow and calf comfort and welfare. A Junior Dairy education component will provide experience for young dairy enthusiasts and encourage future milk industry producers. Plus, view an extensive display of milking industry machinery and equipment, network with those in the dairy business and take-in topical seminars.
Cheron Chamberlain, Western Fair District (WFD), Agriculture Manager, “anticipates this new agricultural congress and trade show will develop as a key event for many dairy farmers throughout Ontario.” Kelly Marshall, WFD Show Manager is focused on growing the exhibitor base to ensure that the Dairy Congress is drawing from industry members further afield as the show proves itself and evolves over the next 3 years. Management are working on new initiatives that will add to the event’s content in year one and will announce details as they are confirmed.
