Placing Your Bet
Once you've decided how you are going to bet, just step up to the teller and place your bet in the following order:
1. Track Name
2. Race Number
3. Amount of Bet
4. Bet Type (e.g. Win, Place or Show)
5. Horse Number
Win: Your horse must finish the race in 1st place.
Place: Your horse must finish the race in 1st or 2nd place
Show: Your horse must finish the race in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

Across the Board to your pick: that's betting WIN, PLACE AND SHOW on all three. If your horse wins the race you collect on all three – Win, Place and Show, if your horse comes second you collect on place an show, and if your hose places third you collect on the show bet!
The daily Double: You must bet 2 horses that finish 1st in the two consecutive races.
Exactor: Your 2 horses must finish 1st and 2nd in exact order in the same race.
Exactor Box: Your 2 horses can finish either 1st or 2nd
Triactors: Your 3 horses must finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the exact order,
in the same race.
Triactor Box: Your 3 horses must finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd
Superfecta: Select the first 4 horses in exact order of finish.
Pick 4: Select the winner of 4 consecutive races for the races designated as Pick 4 events. This bet must be placed before the first of the 4 races is run.
Super Hi-5: Pick the top 5 finishers in order in the day’s designated Super Hi-5 races. The Hi-5 is a $1 "carryover" bet where the pool gets bigger every day until someone gets it right.
