Johnny Gardhouse (Headliner)
For the past fifteen years Johnny Gardhouse has been a touring stand-up comic, making him a true road warrior. From coast to coast, across Canada and the United States, and all the way to the other side of the planet, Johnny has played colleges, universities, nightclubs and hosted numerous corporate engagements.
However, you’ve probably never heard of him. That suits him just fine, because once you’ve seen Johnny, you will never forget him.
He is quick on his feet and never at a loss for words. His razor sharp comebacks and unique blend of current event and storytelling comedy make this Canadian Gordie able to hold his own on the world stage.
“Hey, he kinda looks familiar?” Well that’s because Johnny can be seen in countless television commercials, that air across North America.
From his turn as the “Cash for Life” postman, to the boomerang ducking guy in the Sensodine Toothpaste ad, he has been invading your living room for more than fifteen years.
Some may also recognize Johnny from the Blockheads, the Toronto comedy troupe that fooled talk show host Jerry Springer changing daytime TV forever.
Last year Johnny was featured in the hit NBC series “Last Comic Standing” where he shone brightly.
For insomniacs and the unemployed he is most recognizable from his co-host duties on the Comedy Networks hit series “Gutter Ball Alley” where pushing the envelope of dignity was their mandate.
Last year also ended with a life changing tour of the Middle East, where he was honored to travel to Afghanistan to perform for the Canadian Forces and Coalition allies.
Johnny Gardhouse, bringing you the ha, ha since 1992.
Michelle Shaughnessy (middle)
In the past few years this young comedian has really begun making an impact on the Canadian Comedy scene. Rising through the ranks of the comedy clubs, Michelle has gone on to become a comic in demand. She’s landed television appearances on The Comedy Network, W Network, Bite TV, CBC, iChannel, and MTV.
Not only has she appeared on television she can also be heard in regular rotation on XM Satellite radio.
Michelle has also attracted the eyes of a few festivals in the recent years. She’s performed in the Edmonton Comedy Festival, Global Vancouver Comedy Festival, and CBC’s Winnipeg Comedy Fest where she performed to a sold out crowd at The Pantages Playhouse Theatre, taped for television.
Enjoyed by audiences and critics alike, Michelle Shaughnessy is the perfect choice for any event.
Peter Anthony (MC)
Peter Anthony is fast becoming one of Canada’s rising comedy stars. You may have caught him at a comedy club, a college, a corporate function or on television. It seems lately, this 2008 Canadian Comedy Award winner for “Best New Standup” is everywhere!
On the club scene, Peter continues to push the envelope and develop his distinctive, hilarious point-of-view. He has graced the stages of comedy clubs throughout Canada, the US, and in the UK. Peter’s club work has garnered him countless credits. In his first year, Peter was chosen as a finalist in Yuk Yuk’s Search for Canada's Funniest New Comic. As his career began to take shape, Peter began to tour relentlessly and has since performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival, the Calgary Comedy Festival, the Seattle International Comedy Competition, and twice at the Canadian Comedy Awards and Festival. Recently, Peter entered the $25,000 Great Canadian Laugh-off Competition and took 3rd place overall! He has worked alongside the best in the business including Howie Mandel, Russell Peters, and Harland Williams to name a few.
Outside of the clubs, Peter also performs as a corporate entertainer. Past clients include The MS Society of Canada, Nissan Canada, Tim Horton's Inc., Procter & Gamble and Bell Mobility. Peter is constantly requested to MC corporate events and fundraisers and continues to enjoy meeting and interacting with business leaders from all across Canada.
If you haven’t seen Peter’s live show, you may recognize him from his numerous television appearances including CTV’s “Comedy Now,” CBC’s “Halifax Comedy Festival,” or various appearances on The Comedy Network.
Alongside standup comedy, Peter’s writing career continues to flourish. He has written for the smash game show "You Bet Your Ass" on The Comedy Network, “TKO” for Global TV, “Talking Funny” for CBC Radio and has penned countless hilarious promos for several Canadian networks including Showcase, the Food Network, and HGTV.
Comedian Peter Anthony currently lives in Toronto, but is admittedly and happily a "small town boy" from Pictou, Nova Scotia.
And he hardly ever complains.
