Western Fair District is a vibrant and exciting place to work. If you like working outdoors in a fast paced, customer focused environment with lots of people this is a great opportunity for you. We offer a variety of positions from ticket sellers, cleaners, security, parking and more!   Preference will be given to individuals with relevant experience, a positive attitude and a dedication to working all 10 days with flexible hours!

Ticket Seller

  • Greet guests and answer questions in a courteous manner
  • Process ticket transactions (including cash, debit and credit card handling) using computerized cash register
  • Answer basic questions from guests regarding programming, attractions, facilities and services
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Previous experience handling cash, debit and credit card transactions
  • Available to work all 10 days of the fair: September 5 – September 14, 2014
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Gate Attendant/Scanner

  • Scan and validate admission tickets
  • Ensure guests have produced appropriate ticket/pass to enter
  • Offer and provide hand-stamp to guests for re-entry
  • Control the flow of people entering and exiting their assigned gate
  • Identify and escalate situations.
  • Answer basic questions from guests regarding programming, attractions, facilities and services
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Available to work all 10 days of the fair: September 5 – September 14, 2014
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Guest Services

Required Experience/Qualifications

Cash Relief

  • Relief staff provides excellent customer service to our guests and maintain a high quality of work.
  • Cover shift breaks for ticket selling staff.
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Available to work all 10 days of the fair: September 5 – September 14, 2014
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Ticket Weigher (Day)

  • Ticket Weighers count the coupons used at games and rides from the previous day. 
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to concentrate, count quickly and quietly.
  •  Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and must be able to bend, twist and lift.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Available to work all 10 days of the fair: September 5 – September 14, 2014
  • Available to work flexible hours.
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session 

Building Cleaner 

  • Provides excellent customer service to our guests and maintains a high quality of work. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of their assigned location, using a bag and broom to pick up paper and other litter and use a push cart to change recycling and garbage cans in their assigned area.
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain) 

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Available to work all 10 days of the fair: September 5 – September 14, 2014
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session

Grounds Cleaner

  • Provides excellent customer service to our guests and maintains a high quality of work. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of their assigned location, using a bag and broom to pick up paper and other litter and use a push cart to change recycling and garbage cans in their assigned area.

Washroom Attendant

  • Washroom attendants provide excellent customer service to our guests and maintain a high quality of work. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of their assigned washroom by restocking paper towels and toilet paper as required, and using the bag and broom to pick up paper and other litter.
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

SECURITY
(MUST HAVE SECURITY LICENSE)

  • Security maintains a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

Required Experience/Qualifications

Traffic Control/Parking lot

  • Traffic Controlprovides excellent customer service to our customers and maintains a high quality of work.  Direct traffic to appropriate parking spots, and maintain order in their assigned parking lot. 
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional

Working Conditions

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

Required Experience/Qualifications

Fair Runners

  • Fair Runners provide excellent customer service to our guests and maintain a high quality of work. 
  • May be required to cover breaks/illnesses, provide assistance for other departments (including grounds cleaning and washrooms),
  • May have to clean up emergency spills,
  • Deliver various items to assigned locations
  • May be required to carry heavy objects.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Candidates should be customer service focused, energetic, confident, and professional
