61st Annual Warriors’ Day Parade – Honouring Our Past…Saluting Our Future

Saturday, September 8th the WESTERN FAIR WARRIORS’ DAY PARADE will Honour Our Past and Salute Our Future.
Warriors’ Day Parade participants march to share and display their unique sense of pride – for what they have given and for those that have gone before them. Spectators along the parade route and watching in the grandstand can express their support and heartfelt gratitude, by lining the route, wearing red, cheering and applauding their veterans as they march.
The Warriors Day Parade marches off at 11:20am from the corner of Dundas Street at Adelaide Street and proceeds east through the Old East Village - Dundas corridor, all the way to Ontario Street where it will turn right and up into the fairgrounds around 11:45 a.m. Official ceremonies will take place in the Western Fair Grandstand.
TRIBUTE TO THE CANADIAN AIR FORCE:
This year the parade pays tribute to the Canadian Air Force with Major-General (Retired) Richard Rohmer serving as Reviewing Officer. Major-General Richard Rohmer, O.C., C.M.M., D.F.C., O. Ont., K.St.J, C.D., Of.L., Q.C. A.deC., LL.B., LL.D., and a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur is Canada’s most decorated citizen, a distinguished World War II fighter pilot and D-Day veteran.
Participants in the 61st Annual Warriors’ Day Parade include representation from Army, Navy, Air Force, Royal Canadian Legions, Veterans Organizations, Cadet Corps, London Police, London Fire Fighters, RCMP, 1st CAV “Ortona” Motorcycle Unit, and Antique Military vehicles that will provide transport for those veterans unable to march. In this year’s parade there will be veterans from as far as the USA and Great Britain. From Colour Parties to Marching Units to a number of pipe bands – this parade will be a great way for all Londoners to Honour Our Past and Salute Our Future.
